Working Toward Your Goals


Every Step Counts

Things may keep you away from working out on a daily bases. But don’t let it discourage you into giving up. Every little bit of time you spend on your goals is better than not working on them at all. Every step counts, even if it’s only a baby step.

With life, we all have those unexpected things that come up. We can’t put them on the back burner, so to speak. Once you get into a routine in life’s duties, there’s always something that will give us a side step. That happens to everyone. Our lives never go as we have planned them.

Don’t let your side steps keep you from your goals. It will put you a step behind, but you can always make that step up if you keep trying.

My exercise routine has had many side steps. And it has put me behind on my goals. But I’m not giving up. Cause if I do give up, I won’t go anywhere but backwards. A small step is better than none at all. That is what I keep telling myself.

I should be reaching my goals right now if it wasn’t for all my side steps and unexpected problems. But I’m not letting it get me down. I’m not letting it discourage me into giving up.


Finding other ways

One good thing about an exercise routine is you can do something every day to add to it. It may not be exactly the plan you have started out with though.

I was gone for a couple weeks last month. It kept me away from the routine I had planned. But I found some other ways to keep myself working on my goals. I have a routine with the Bowflex Max Trainer M5. But with me being away for those weeks, I couldn’t use it. I had to come up with other ways to work on my goals. Taking a walk, using the stairs, and even using the bedroom floor to do my stretches. I had to do some compromising with my plans. I had to work it to my advantage. I didn’t let it get me down. I didn’t stop working on my goals cause I couldn’t do it as I have planned.

Once I did get back home to my Max Trainer, I started right back up on my exercise routine. Some people will just give up if they get side stepped. Some people will give up on it all if they don’t even see the result right away. This is only hurting themselves. I could have not worked out at all while I was away. That would have put me even further behind on my goals. Every little bit helps.


Working through your problems

I see many people that won’t even try to work out. They use the excuses like… I don’t have the time, or I have a bad knee, or even, I can’t stick with it, so why try.

Just 14 Minutes A Day

First, NO TIME…  

It only takes 14 minutes a day with the Bowflex Max Trainer. And it only takes a few more minutes a day to walk up the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Or how about, parking just a little further from the store.

Instead of sitting in front of a television in the evenings, take a short walk down the street and back. Or even walking around the house. Any little bit is better than none at all. And you can always find a few minutes here and there during the day to do some kind of exercise.

Second, Bad Knee…

The Bowflex Max Trainer is designed for low impact on your joints. And there are other exercises you can do by sitting on a chair. Working around your handicap, it’s not really all that hard to do if you give it a try. I have a bad knee from an accident years ago. I have found that exercise builds strength in my knee.

Third, Can’t stick with an exercise program…

It takes 30 days to form a new habit. A few minutes a day for 30 days, that’s not much work at all. Once you start working out and seeing the results, that will give you the motivation to keep on going.

Take a 30-day challenge. Challenge yourself. Leave a comment here on what you plan on doing to help yourself become more fit and healthy. What will you try for the next month? It could be something small like parking further away, taking the stairs at least once a day or taking a walk around the block every day ( great if you have a dog. They need the exercise too). And in 30 days, check back in and give me your success story.
If you can’t do this one day, don’t give up. Do it the next day. Every little bit helps. Don’t get discouraged when you can’t work out on day. Tomorrow is another day to try again.
